About Love Balungi
Who makes Love Balungi products?
Every product is handmade in small batches in Boston by founder Cathy Waiswa. She started Love Balungi in 2019 in her dining room after losing her mother, who mixed her own skincare at home. "Balungi" means "beautiful" in Luganda.
Is Love Balungi Black-owned?
Yes. Love Balungi is a Black woman-owned brand founded by a first-generation Ugandan-American.
Are your products vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. Love Balungi products are vegan, cruelty-free, and paraben-free. We do not test on animals.
Ingredients & Sensitive Skin
Are your products safe for sensitive skin?
Our line was created with sensitive skin in mind and uses gentle, skin-loving ingredients. Everyone's skin is unique, so we always recommend a patch test before using any new product on your face or body.
Do your products contain fragrance?
Some products are scented with fragrance or essential oils. Check each product's description if you have sensitivities. Our Polish & Glow Body Scrub comes in a fragrance-free option.
How should I store my products?
Keep products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Avoid leaving whipped butters and oil-based products in hot environments.

How does Blossom pH lip gloss work?
Blossom goes on clear and reacts to your lips' natural pH to bloom into a pink shade that's unique to you. No two people wear it the same way.
Which lip liner should I pair with Blossom?
Any Line & Define shade works: Dark Brown, Red, or Berry. Line, blend slightly inward, then swipe Blossom over the center. The Blossom Lip Combo bundles both and saves you $4.
Do your lip liners need sharpening?
No. Line & Define is a no-sharpen liner.
Is ROOTED oil good for locs and 4C hair?
Yes. ROOTED Loc & Scalp Oil was created for locs and 4C hair. It's a lightweight blend designed to moisturize the scalp and strands without buildup. It comes in an 8 oz bottle and a 2 oz dropper.
Orders & Payments
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards, PayPal, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other secure options at checkout.
Can I update or cancel my order?
Email us at info@lovebalungi.com with your order number as soon as possible. We'll do our best, but changes aren't guaranteed once processing has started.
Is there a first-order discount?
Yes. Join our email list for 10% off your first order of $25 or more.
Processing & Shipping
Why do some products say "made fresh to order"?
Many products are made in small batches after you order, so they reach you fresh. Please allow 3–5 business days for processing.
How long does shipping take?
Once shipped, U.S. orders typically arrive in 3–7 business days. You'll receive a tracking email when your order ships.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes. U.S. orders of $50 or more (after discounts, before taxes) ship free and include a free Love Balungi heart compact mirror.
Do you ship internationally?
We primarily ship within the U.S. If you're outside the U.S., email info@lovebalungi.com and we'll let you know what's possible.
What if my body butter arrives soft or melted?
Place it somewhere cool or in the refrigerator briefly to firm back up. The texture may change, but it's still safe to use.
Returns & Damages
What is your return policy?
For hygiene and safety, we can't accept returns on opened or used beauty products. See our full refund policy.
My item arrived damaged. What should I do?
Email info@lovebalungi.com within 3 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos. We'll work with you on a replacement or store credit.
Gifts, Wholesale & Workshops
Do your gift cards expire?
No. Love Balungi gift cards never expire and are delivered instantly by email.
Do you offer gift sets?
Yes. The Balungi Glow Box includes Blossom pH gloss, whipped body butter, and a mango lip scrub. Browse our Gifts collection.
Do you offer wholesale?
Yes, for select products and partners such as salons, spas, and boutiques. Visit our Wholesale page or email info@lovebalungi.com.
Can I book a workshop?
Yes! We host Create & Glow Workshops for youth, corporate teams, and community groups. Visit our Workshops page.
Can I cancel a workshop booking?
Email info@lovebalungi.com at least 48 hours before the workshop and choose a 50% refund or full credit toward a future workshop. Within 48 hours, we can't offer a refund, but you're welcome to send a friend in your place or pick up your take-home products later.
